American Veterans who wish to attend the official ceremonies need to contact directly the U.S Embassy in Paris by email at email@example.com
Please provide :
• name of the veteran
• full address, telephone number and email address
• please indicate if the veteran is a DDAY veteran
• DOB / age
• who will be their escort
• any special needs (wheelchair...)
• planned dates in France
• if the veteran has received the French Legion of Honor
The Consulate General of France in Chicago cannot process submissions.
Many sites offer useful information regarding upcoming ceremonies, however information regarding the international ceremonies have not been released yet. Only local ceremonies are currently available.

On June 5th, 6th and 7th, 2014 many heads of state and spectators are expected to attend the ceremonies. Access to the sites will be under certain restrictions. The Comité du Débarquement has been commemorating the landings since 1945 in order to pay tribute to the Allied soldiers fought on June 6th. The Committee is responsible for organizing ceremonies.

Website of Normandie Mémoire
Founded in 2002 on the initiative of the Regional Council of Lower Normandy, and with a first assignment which consisted in planning the 60th anniversary of the D-Day Landings in 2004, the Normandie Mémoire association endeavours to perpetuate the remembrance of those events which occurred during the D-Day Landings and the Battle of Normandy.
The association also organises, coordinates and promotes for cultural purposes, the enhancement and development of sites, museums and various events relating to the D-Day Landings, the Battle of Normandy, the French Resistance movement, as well as the remembrance of martyrs who died during the Nazi Occupation and civilian casualties who lost their lives during the battles fought for the Liberation.
American Veterans who fought in on French soil during WWII might be eligible to receive the French Legion of Honor, France’s highest distinction.

Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games™ 2014 - Normandy - August 23, 2014 to September 07, 2014.
Held every 4 years, alternating with the Olympic Games and under the authority of the International Federation for Equestrian Sports (FEI), the World Equestrian Games are the biggest equestrian event in the world.
The event brings together 8 official disciplines over a period of two weeks of competition : jumping, dressage, eventing, driving, reining, vaulting, endurance and para-dressage.
Over 60 nations and nearly 1,000 athletes will come together to demonstrate equestrian competitions of the highest standard to the 500,000 visitors expected at the various sites.
