CHICAGO, JANUARY 19 : "GOOD VALUE WINES" - TRADE ONLY, ROADSHOW WINETASTING ROLLS INTO TOWN

The January 2010 Good Value Wines tasting was jointly organized by the UbiFrance trade commissions of New York City, Houston, San Francisco and Chicago. The tasting was itinerant and took place over three consecutive days. The first tasting was held in Chicago on January 19th, the second one in Dallas on the 20th and the third one in Los Angeles on the 21st.

The aim of this event was to connect French wine producers with the wine trade in the American market. The theme Good Value Wines reflects the current tendency of the American consumer to turn towards affordable wines (under $15/ bottle) of a decent quality. Consequently, UbiFrance selected fourteen French producers offering quality at the right price, from seven different French wine-producing regions.

The morning of each tasting, three wine professionals spoke to the group regarding the wine and spirits market in the US. These speakers shared their expertise from their specific tier in the three-tier system (distributor, importer or restaurant/retailer/hotel).

For the tasting in Chicago, Ubifrance welcomed approximately one hundred wine professional representatives of the three tiers system at the Dana Hotel. The French producers seemed satisfied with the contacts established and even some orders were placed during the tasting.
