RECUEIL DES PROCURATIONS DE VOTE
Afin de faciliter la participation électorale des Français établis dans la circonscription, le Consulat général de France à Chicago organise douze permanences consulaires pour recueillir les procurations de vote.

VOLONTAIRES POUR LES BUREAUX DE VOTE
Dans le cadre de la préparation des élections prévues en 2012, le Consulat général de France à Chicago recherche des électeurs intéressés pour prendre part aux bureaux de vote. Les bureaux de vote sont composés d’un(e) président(e), d’un(e) secrétaire et de deux assesseurs. Les participants doivent être inscrits sur la liste électorale consulaire (LEC) en vigueur en 2012 (avec option vote à l’étranger pour les présidentielles et législatives) et être disponibles toute la journée pour participer aux opérations électorales. Mise en service du site MonConsulat.fr
Depuis le 23 novembre 2011, le site MonConsulat.fr a remplacé le Guichet d'Administration Électronique (GAEL). La mise en service de ce nouveau portail constitue une étape supplémentaire pour faciliter l'accès des Français à l'administration. Moderne, simple et sécurisé, MonConsulat.fr s'articule autour de 4 fonctionnalités : les données personnelles, la situation électorale, les données de sécurité, l'attestation d'inscription consulaire.

PUBLIC FRENCH AND U.S. LIBRARIES LAUNCH PARTNERSHIP FOR AUDIOVISUAL EXCELLENCE
Beginning February 1, the Library of Congress and France’s National Audiovisual Institute (the Institut National de l’Audiovisuel, or INA)—the government agency responsible for archiving French radio and television—will exchange up to 500 hours of specially selected digital content. This unprecedented cultural collaboration will allow researchers on both sides of the Atlantic to gain insights into the ways that the two countries have interacted in the past. The partnership is planned for a duration of three years.

TV5MONDE et DishNetwork présentent Tivi5Monde, la première chaîne de télévision américaine entièrement dévouée au jeune public !
Tivi5Monde est une nouvelle chaîne diffusant 24 heures sur 24 des programmes en français entièrement consacrée aux enfants et aux adolescents (âgé de 4 à 14 ans). Tivi5Monde est désormais disponible dans le "French bouquet" proposé par l’opérateur satellite Dish Network qui offre déjà TV5MONDE aux Etats-Unis, chaîne généraliste francophone proposant entre autres films, documentaires et émissions d’information.

MARCH 2012: 6TH WORLD WATER FORUM - TIME FOR SOLUTIONS
France will host the 6th World Water Forum in Marseille from March 12 to 17, 2012.
The World Water Forum is the largest international event on the subject of water. Every three years this forum brings together over 20 000 participants from all over the world. The ultimate goal: to raise water issues higher on global agendas.

Chicago (IL). January 26, "Challenges facing Europe today" at DePaul University.
For the second year in a row, Mr. Graham PAUL, Consul General of France in Chicago and Mr. Onno HUCKMANN, Consul General of Germany discussed European issues at DePaul University.

HOPE AT HIGH NOON. An essay by Scott Allan McDonald
Scott Allan McDonald is a Senior Finance Director in Minneapolis, Minnesota with Carlson Wagonlit Travel (a joint venture between Carlson Companies and JPMorgan Chase). Born and raised in northern Minnesota, he spent nearly 10 of his 15 year career in Paris, studied in France in undergraduate and graduate school, and in high school was a foreign exchange student in Flemish-speaking Belgium, outside Bruges.
His very personal essay explores the far-reaching ways his experiences abroad have changed him, and attempts to distill what broader lessons these experiences may hold for others. Read.

THROUGH FEBRUARY 29: ROBERT BRESSON @ GENE SISKEL FILM CENTER
The Gene Siskel Film Center presents "Robert Bresson," a series of thirteen feature films and one short representing the total oeuvre of one of the cinema's most distinctive and uncompromising artists. Complete information.

FEBRUARY 6: HILDA, A PLAY BY MARIE NDIAYE @ DEPAUL UNIVERSITY
One of France’s new leading literary figures, Marie NDiaye was born in 1967 in Pithiviers from a Senegalese father and a French mother. Conceived as a radio drama and aired at the 1999 Avignon Festival, Hilda is Marie NDiaye’s first play to be translated into English. Produced by Trap Door Theatre, this powerful reading will be again on stage at DePaul University. Complete information.

FEBRUARY 3 - MAY 6: RENOIR TO CHAGALL - PARIS AND THE ALLURE OF COLOR @ THE SPEED ART MUSEUM
Renoir to Chagall: Paris and the Allure of Color presents an extraordinary exhibition of modern French masters featuring 55 paintings from the Dixon Gallery and Gardens and nearly 30 works from Speed’s collection and public and private collections throughout Kentucky. Complete information.

FEBRUARY 4 - MAY 13, MONET IN GIVERNY: LANDSCAPES OF REFLECTION
@ THE CINCINNATI ART MUSEUM
Monet's late works depicting iconic motifs from his garden in Giverny are among the most innovative of the late nineteenth and twentieth centuries. This exhibition will bring together twelve masterpieces to look anew at the range of Monet’s output in Giverny and to consider the importance of his garden as a continuing source of reflective inspiration. FEBRUARY 3-12: FESTIVAL OF FILMS IN FRENCH @ THE UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN - MILWAUKEE
Admission free! All films are in French and other languages with English subtitles.The 15th Annual Festival of Films in French organized by the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee celebrates the wide range of French-language cinema. The fourteen films, most of them Milwaukee Premieres, take us to Quebec, Burkina Faso, Corsica, the French provinces, and more.

Le Lycée Français de Chicago organise un Forum des Métiers annuel le samedi 11 février 2012, de 9h30 à 12h00. Ce forum est devenu une tradition dans la vie du Lycée, rassemblant plus de 150 personnes. Le Forum des Metiers du Lycée Français de Chicago est ouvert aux jeunes non-élèves au LFC. En savoir plus.

EUROPEAN ADVENTURES: GERMAN AND/OR FRENCH COMICS CONTEST
Can you tell a story in German? Or in French? What about drawing? Can you draw a comic strip? The Goethe-Institut Chicago and the Cultural Service at the Consulate General of France in Chicago invite submissions for a comics competition.

2012 VIDEO ECOLOGY CONTEST FOR FRENCH LANGUAGE HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS IN THE MIDWEST
