Youth International Grant for students 18 –25 years old
The French Embassy is offering 4 Youth International Grants to France . Requirement : student 18 –25 years old with proficiency in French. The only expense to be covered by the student is the roundtrip ticket from the United States to Cannes. The Grants are :

Tournées Program: create your own French Film Festival in your University
The Tournées Festival Grant was conceived as a program to encourage schools to begin their own self-sustaining French film festivals. Since its inception, the program has partnered with hundreds of universities and made it possible for tens of thousands of students to discover French-language films.. The Tournées Festival selection is made of the best films released in France in the past year, some of which have not yet been shown in U.S. theaters. The selection is a real reflection of what today French cinema is up to. You will find a wide array of genres. For more information, click here.


Universciné : Free online French movies for K-12 schools, universities and cultural centers
In collaboration with the company “Le meilleur du cinéma français” (“The Best of French Cinema”), the French Cultural Services is o an Internet portal that enables Universities, Schoolsand Cultural Centersto access films online to organize public screenings more easily throughout the US.

Cinemathèque Africa – DVD collection available to K-12 schools and universities
Because of the program of restauration and digitalisation by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs of his African collections, 17 African movies (from 1957 to 1997) is now available for non-commercial viewings in the US. All the movies have subtitles in french, english, spanish or portuguese. The films are classified by themes (Immigration, Identities, Women, Colonial Africa & Wars, Humor & Satyre, Rural World). The Central States Conference on the Teaching of Foreign Languages – Dearborn (Michigan) March 6-8 2008
The annual conference, which attracts approximately 1,500 participants from all around the United States and the world, stimulates research in second-language learning and teaching, and provides a forum for the exchange of ideas and thoughts about foreign language teaching.

Carnets spatiaux : 13e Semaine de la langue française
A l’occasion de la Semaine de la langue française 2008, du 14 au 24 mars 2008, l’Observatoire de l’Espace met en place des ateliers de création auxquels tous les établissements sont invités à participer. Au programme : la réalisation de « Carnets spatiaux » autour d’un mot, de sa définition relative à l’Espace et d’illustrations afférentes. National Educational Travel Exchange for High Schools Students
The Council on Standards for International Educational Travel (CSIET) is a private, not-for-profit organization whose mission is to identify reputable international youth exchange programs, to provide leadership and support to the exchange and educational communities so that youth are provided with meaningful and safe international exchange experiences, and to promote the importance and educational value of international youth exchange. YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS INITIATIVE - YEI - 2008
Mission pour la Science et la Technologie a créé il y a 3 ans l'Initiative Jeunes Entrepreneurs (Young Entrepreneurs Initiative - YEI) pour favoriser l'installation d'entreprises innovantes en France. YEI est pilotée depuis Boston par notre Attaché Scientifique, Jean-Jacques Pierrat, et le chef de projet YEI, Sébastien Dagault, mais elle s'adresse aux jeunes entrepreneurs à travers tous les Etats-Unis.

Le volontariat scientifique chercheur
Mis en place par le gouvernement français, le VOLONTARIAT INTERNATIONAL permet aux jeunes filles et garçons, de moins de 29 ans, français ou ressortissants de l’espace économique européen d’effectuer un travail de recherche à l’étranger, sous la tutelle du ministère des Affaires étrangères français et des services de l’ambassade de France.

Candidats concernés : Les étudiants en stage de fin d’études, DEA, thèse, PHD... et les jeunes diplômés. Ils s’inscrivent sur le site du Centre d’Information sur le Volontariat International "CIVI" (www.civiweb.com) avant leur 28ème anniversaire et peuvent ainsi répondre aux offres proposées par votre université et publiées par le ministère des Affaires étrangères français.

Aujourd’hui plus de 4 000 candidats se déclarent intéressés par une mission de recherche en laboratoire.
Structure d’accueil : La structure d’accueil est obligatoirement un laboratoire d’université, un centre de recherche, une association ou un institut public. Les établissements privés sont exclus de cette procédure.
Durée de la mission : La durée est modulable, elle va de 6 à 24 mois, renouvelable 1 fois dans la limite des 24 mois. Pour en savoir plus

International Volunteer Scientists
Established by the French government, the International Volunteer Corps enables young men and women to conduct research work abroad under the auspices of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the French Embassy. Volunteers must be under 29 years of age, either French or other nationality within the European Economic area (EEA).

Elligible applicants: Candidates must have been awarded a Master’s Degree or Ph.D. or be in their final year before graduation. They should sign up at www.civiweb.com, the website of the Centre d’Information sur le Volontariat International - CIVI (International Volunteer Corps Information Center) before their 28th birthday to be eligible for openings in US institutions which are posted by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Today, more than 4,000 applicants have shown interest in conducting laboratory research.

Host Institution : The host institution must be a university laboratory, research center, or a public institute. Private institutions are not eligible.
Duration of the mission : The duration is flexible, ranging from six months to two years, renewable once with a two-year limit. More information

La mission pour la science et la technologie de Boston vient de créer un portail franco-américain s’adressant a la fois aux entreprises françaises désireuses d’obtenir des information sur l’innovation aux Etats-Unis, mais aussi aux entreprises américaines cherchant des renseignements sur l’innovation en France. Ce site recouvre des informations sur les acteurs de l’innovation, les textes réglementaires, les programmes fédéraux , la propriété intellectuelle et la création d’entreprises innovantes.
