ELECTIONS
Suite aux décisions d’annulation prononcées par le Conseil constitutionnel le 15 février dernier, des élections législatives partielles vont être organisées dans la circonscription n°1 (Canada et États-Unis) ainsi que, pour information, dans la circonscription n°8 (Chypre, Grèce, Israël, Italie, Malte, Turquie). |
Les Français inscrits sur les listes électorales consulaires de la circonscription pourront exprimer leur suffrage au moyen des mêmes modalités de vote qu’en 2012 : à l’urne, par procuration, par correspondance ou par Internet.
Dans la première circonscription, le vote à l’urne aura lieu le samedi 25 mai 2013 pour le premier tour et, dans le cas d’un second tour, le samedi 8 juin.

PASSEPORTS
En prévision des vacances d'été, le consulat général de France vous recommande de vérifier dès à présent la validité des passeports des membres de votre famille. Le renouvellement d'un titre de voyage périmé ou en voie de l'être s'effectue selon les modalités décrites ici.
Vous noterez que le délai moyen entre le dépôt de la demande et l'établissement du nouveau passeport est d'environ 3 semaines. Les agents du consulat se tiennent à votre disposition pour toute information complémentaire, par courriel ou par téléphone (312-327-5200). |

MAY 9: EUROPE DAY
For the third consecutive year, 15 European consulates in Chicago will visit Chicago Public Schools to discuss Europe and the Future of Europe.
Deputy Consul General of France François Pellerin will visit Chicago High School For Agricultural Sciences |
On 9 May 1950, Robert Schuman, the first President of the European Parliamentary Assembly, presented his proposal on the creation of an organised Europe, indispensable to the maintenance of peaceful relations. This proposal, known as the 'Schuman declaration', is considered to be the beginning of the creation of what is now the European Union. Today, May 9 has become Europe Day, which is the occasion for activities and festivities that bring Europe closer to its citizens and the peoples of the Union closer to one another. |
