Corfu Informal Meeting of OSCE Foreign Ministers on the Future of European Security (June 27 and 28, 2009)
The OSCE Ministers of Foreign Affairs met in Corfu, for the first time, in an informal setting, in order to discuss the current challenges and future perspectives of the common, indivisible, comprehensive and cooperative security, which has marked the post Cold-War European Security Architecture. Summary of Pierre Lellouche’s final mission to Afghanistan and Central Asia as France’s Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan (June 18 and 19, 2009)
Pierre Lellouche was appointed Minister of State responsible for European Affairs. Within the scope of his previous functions as the Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan, he carried out his final mission to Afghanistan on June 18 and 19, to continue efforts to strengthen French commitment to that country in terms of security, governance and development. HONORING WWII VETERANS FOR THEIR PARTICIPATION IN THE LIBERATION OF FRANCE
ILLINOIS
On July 2nd:
M. Earl F. Scherer will be awarded the French Legion of Honor by Congressman John Shimkus during a special ceremony to take place in Olney (IL).

OHIO
On July 29th, Mr. Lee Fisher, Lt. Governor of Ohio will present ten WWII veterans with the French Legion of Honor Medal.
  The ceremony will take place at the Ohio State House in Columbus, OH at 12:30 p.m.
The following veterans, all from Ohio, will be decorated at the ceremony:
Mr. Chester Collins, Mr. Mr. James D. Dane, Mr. Rex B. Hoon, Mr. Thomas L. Jennings, Mr. Steve J. Jeriorski, , Mr. Louis M. Prince, Harry N. Ruggles, Mr. Anthony B. Sajovic, Mr. Joe G. Thompson and Mr. Heman Zerger Jr.

July 30th, Niles (MI): Media Day at the Fort St. Joseph excavation site.
Theme of the event "Jesuits in New France" in the presence of Consul General of France Jean-Baptiste Main de Boissière. Fort Saint Joseph was a fort originally established on land granted to the Jesuits by King Louis XIV located on what is now the south side of the present day town of Niles, Michigan.

French architectural photographer Jean-Christophe Ballot celebrates the relationship between sister cities Chicago and Paris. The exhibition juxtaposes formally similar photographs of the two cities, creating a visually rich dialogue. Each image of Chicago is paired with an image of Paris to accentuate the similarities of the two urban centers.
The exhibition is being held in partnership with the Alliance Française de Chicago, the French Cultural Services in Chicago and the City of Paris – Department of Cultural Affairs. Additional promotional support provided by the Paris Committee of Chicago Sister Cities International Program. The exhibition is organized by Jennifer Norback Fine Art, Inc. Loyola University Museum of Art .

A traveling exhibition that has toured the United States since 2004, and is now making its final stop at LUMA. The renowned exhibition, organized by the Iris and B. Gerald Cantor Foundation, brings together 36 of Auguste Rodin’s bronze sculptures, which present a vibrant image of Rodin’s important artistic legacy when paired with his published writings and original letters. The exhibition also includes a 10-part educational program illustrating the lost-wax casting process, four books, two letters, and large canvas photo murals. A film on the creation of Rodin’s masterpiece, The Gates of Hell, will be shown throughout the exhibition. Loyola University Museum of Art

Audiences of all ages will be enchanted as Ilotopie makes its American debut, transforming Lake Michigan into a world where cars drive on water, heads burst into flames and a 12-foot-tall lady glides by on a penny-farthing.
