University Partnership Grant: Next Call For Projects
PUF helps French and American universities build sustainable education and research partnerships within or/and across all the disciplines, in a dialogue with its main contributors as well as with key actors in the academic field such as the National Science Foundation (NSF), the Institute of International Education (IIE), the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) or the Conférence des Présidents d’Universités (CPU).
Partnership projects are subject to independent scientific expertise and then reviewed by a committee of renowned academics and high level officials in the areas of international education and research.
The deadline for applications is December 15, 2008; the results will be announced early March 2009 for the following academic year. Grants are awarded for a period of up to three years but are subject to annual review by the committee.
PUF is a program of FACE (French American Cultural Exchange), the American nonprofit foundation and partner of the Cultural Services of the French Embassy in the U.S. Complete information.

English Teaching Assistantship
Teach English in France!
Every year, the French Ministry of Education and the Cultural Services at the French Embassy offer approximately 1,600 teaching assistantship positions in French primary and secondary schools and in the French teaching colleges ("IUFM") in all regions of France and the DOM-TOMs (overseas departments).
Deadlines : November 1st & December 1st, 2008 & January 15th, 2009.

Tournées Program: create your own French Film Festival in your University
The Tournées Festival Grant was conceived as a program to encourage schools to begin their own self-sustaining French film festivals. Since its inception, the program has partnered with hundreds of universities and made it possible for tens of thousands of students to discover French-language films.. The Tournées Festival selection is made of the best films released in France in the past year, some of which have not yet been shown in U.S. theaters. The selection is a real reflection of what today French cinema is up to. You will find a wide array of genres. For more information, click here.

Universciné : Free online French movies for K-12 schools, universities and cultural centers
In collaboration with the company “Le meilleur du cinéma français” (“The Best of French Cinema”), the French Cultural Services is offering  an Internet portal that enables Universities, Schools and Cultural Centers to access films online and to organize public screenings more easily throughout the US. YEi’09: Young Entrepreneurs Initiative call for proposals :

Are you currently starting a technology venture? Think global. In the increasingly competitive global technology market, a key element of new venture success is the ability to internationalize your vision early.

YEI helps you study the feasibility of a project in France. US-based entrepreneurs, laureates of the Young Entrepreneurs Initiative, will be invited to France and will benefit from a free mentoring and networking program.
YEI will help them study the feasibility of setting up headquarters, technological activities, and develop a high tech or life sciences venture between the US and France, the stepping stone to Europe. Laureates will be selected in January 2009.

The Young Entrepreneurs Initiative (YEi) offers one-stop access to :
- A network of successful franco-american entrepreneurs
- Lead customers and business clusters
- World class R&D labs, shared platforms and resources to build pilot projects
- Business angels, Vcs, and grants for technology ventures
- Incubators and local venture ecosystems

France constitutes an excellent place for R&D. France’s tech sector is evolving quickly and now offers significant advantages to innovators and entrepreneurs with the best research tax credit in Europe, a flexible business environment with adapted working hours, a highly skilled and cost-competitive workforce.

YEi’09 : Young Entrepreneurs initiative - Appel à candidatures :

Encourage les jeunes chercheurs et entrepreneurs basés aux Etats-Unis à venir créer des entreprises a technologies innovantes en France

L’Ambassade de France aux Etats-Unis via sa Mission pour la science et la technologie lance la 5e édition du programme “Young Entrepreneurs initiative ».

Cette action vise à aider les « jeunes » entrepreneurs (sans restriction d’âge), francophiles ou Français, travaillant actuellement aux Etats-Unis à lancer ou poursuivre leur projet de création d’entreprise a technologie innovante en France.

Les critères de sélection des projets sont l’excellence technologique, les motivations à créer des activités en France et la maturité de la démarche. Les projets sélectionnés recevront une assistance financière (environ 5000 euros) et un “mentoring” personnalisé pour faciliter le développement de partenariat avec des acteurs économiques, technologiques, et financiers. Il s’agit de mettre à la disposition des candidats le réseau nécessaire pour valider la faisabilité de leur projet de création d’entreprise.

Les lauréats, désignés fin janvier 2009, seront accompagnés au concours création d’entreprises innovantes financé par le Ministère de la Recherche qui offre la possibilité de subventions allant de 45 000 euros (amorçage) à 450 000 euros (création-développement).

Le mentoring et suivi des projets se fait via nos partenaires YEI, les principaux réseaux d’innovation et entrepreunariat en France.
