November 12 - Chicago (IL): "Not One of Us" - Issues Surrounding the Integration of Minorities in Europe.

The November International Affairs Committee of the Anti-Defamation League features a discussion with Jean-Baptiste de Boissière, Consul Général of France, and Honorable Wolfgang Drautz, Consul General of Germany who will examine the challenges and human rights issues surrounding the integration of minorities in Europe. November 5 - Chicago (IL): "European Jazz Meets Chicago."
Musicians from Germany, the Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, and Poland will meet with Chicago's own for an extraordinary evening of improvised jazz.This event is free and open to the public.
"European Jazz Meets Chicago" is the inaugural concert of this year's Umbrella Music Festival.(Program - PDF)

Fashion designer Sandra Cardoso Muendane at The Taft Museum

The Taft Museum of Art in Cincinnati is pleased to welcome the African fashion designer Sandra Cardoso Muendane. Muendane is the Society's first international Artist-in-Residence, coming by way of Mozambique, Portugal, and France. Complete information.

November 19 and December 3: Retrospective : Alain Robbe-Grillet X 4

This tribute to Resnais’s cinematic artistry covers his most prolific years, from the early 1960s to the early 1970s. The films, seen in dazzling new prints, demonstrate his status as one of France’s most unorthodox and hypnotic filmmakers. Robbe-Grillet died earlier this year at the age of 85. Presented with the generous cooperation of the Cultural Services of the French Embassy. Wexner Center for the Arts.

November 13-23 : 17th Saint Louis International Film Festival
The Saint Louis Festival showcases the best in cutting-edge features and shorts from around the globe. The majority of the films screened - many of them critically lauded award-winners - will receive their only St. Louis exposure at the festival. It spotlights the finest filmmakers in the world, whether fresh talent, emerging artists largely unknown outside their native countries, or directors of long-established reputation. English Teaching Assistantship - Teach English in France!
Every year, the French Ministry of Education and the Cultural Services at the French Embassy offer approximately 1,600 teaching assistantship positions in French primary and secondary schools and in the French teaching colleges ("IUFM") in all regions of France and the DOM-TOMs (overseas departments).
Deadlines : December 1st, 2008 & January 15th, 2009.
