The Cultural Services of the French Embassy at the 2011 ACTFL Convention
The Cultural Services of the French Embassy will be at the 2011 ACTFL Convention in Denver from November 18th to November 20th (with pre-convention workshops on Thursday, November 17th).www.actfl.org
The French Pavillion at the convention is expanding every year, and for 2011, we will be joined by CampusFrance and 20 French schools specializing in teaching the French language and French teacher training. The pavillion will also feature our Francophone partners: Switzerland (represented by the educational and cultural services of the Consulate General of Switzerland in New York) and Quebec (represented by the North American division of the Department of International Relations of Quebec and the Centre de la Francophonie des Amériques - ). European publishers, specialists in school trips, the Delegation générale de l’Alliance Française in the United States, TV5, RFI, and of course the AATF will also be represented.

Training Session: Energize your French Class through an Interdisciplinary Approach
A 6-hour training session co-hosted by Evelyne Pâquier (TV5 Monde), Marine Bechtel (RFI) and Gérard Colavecchio (CLEMI), on the subject of interdisciplinary approaches to teaching French and also how to energize your French class through the use of non-linguistic disciplines. The workshop leaders will give you the tools you need to make the most of resources that overlap different academic fields to help you build interdisciplinary class projects.

"Tout en français" Luncheon
Join us for this special opportunity to lunch with your fellow French teachers, education officials, representatives from our services at the French Embassy, and other exhibitors, and leave with a "teacher’s goodie bag" that will contain a number of resources for your French class. You will have the chance to discover a young musical artist from Quebec whose performance will be sponsored by the Centre de la Francophonie des Amériques, and you will also be able to enter a drawing to win one of many exciting prizes (study abroad trips, magazine subscriptions, educational materials, etc.).

Led by Jean-Claude Duthion, Attaché for Educational Affairs at the French Embassy in Washington, D.C., and Etienne Farreyre, Deputy Cultural Attaché at the Consulat Général de France in Los Angeles.
