2- Access

The Consulate General of France is located in the "Michigan Plaza" tower, at the intersection of Michigan Ave and Lake Str.

Please note that you will be asked to present a piece of identification to the security of the building in order to have access to our floor.

3- Hours of operation

Consular services (except the visa section) are open to the public :

• every morning, without appointment
  • 9:00 AM - 12:30 PM Monday through Thursday,
  • 8:00 AM - 12:30 PM Friday only ,
• every afternoon, by appointment only.
  
  

4- Holidays closures

In 2012, the Consulate general will be closed on the following days:

 New year: Monday, January 2
 Martin Luther King Junior’s Birthday: Monday, January 16
 President’s Day: Monday, February 20
 Easter: Monday, April 9
 French labor Day: Tuesday, May 1st
 Memorial Day: Monday, May 28
 Independance Day: Wednesday, July 4
 Labor Day: Monday, September 3
 Thanksgiving: Thursday, November 22
 Thanksgiving week end: Friday, November 23
 Christmas: Tuesday, December 25

 Bastille Day: Saturday, July, 14. The staff of the consulate will work on July 14 but the consulate general will remain closed to the public.

Due to the French elections in 2012 and the NATO summit in Chicago, the Consulate-General of France will be closed to the public :

 April 23 2012,
 May 07 2012,
 May 21 2012,
 June 04 2012,
 June 18 2012.
