The French Cultural Services in Chicago promotes and supports new or emerging french artistic form in visual arts, architecture and design in collaboration with local institutions in the Midwest. Its programs are funded largely through the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, CulturesFrance (French Council for the Arts), the Ministry of Culture and Communication, and French and American private partners through the foundation FACE (French American Cultural Exchange).
It offers advice, support and networking opportunities to French artists and professionals for exhibitions, conferences, art fairs, symposium etc..
It acts as a liaison between the French and American art scenes.
It organizes professional visits to France for curators, directors of art centers, university galleries etc..
It offers a variety of cultural or educational grants and residencies to American Non-Profit institutions.

Etant donnés : The French-American Fund for Contemporary Art
The fund is dedicated to nurturing and supporting outstanding programming of contemporary artists from France and the United States. It facilitates the discovery of emerging talent and firmly believes in the need to sustain interest in established artists whose work inspires younger generations. Furthermore, Etant donnés is instrumental in creating a network of curators from both countries who work together and exchange ideas.

Etant donnés : The French-American Fund for Contemporary Art offers Curatorial Research Grants supporting the professional development of American curators by offering them extended stays of up to three months in France for research projects in the field of contemporary art.

International Cooperation program for art schools
The French Cultural Services participates in forums and exhibitions at American universities and other academic institutions. The International Cooperation Program for Art Schools facilitates dialogue between French and American visual artists, architects, and designers through academic conferences, workshops, master classes, and roundtables.
