News - International competition for porcelaine creation

The city of Limoges (FRANCE) is organising an international competition for porcelain for the international exhibition of ceramics during summer 2010. Reserved to artists and designers from all countries, without any age limit, this competition is aimed to the execution of an original Limoges porcelain work. The main goal is to promote creation and innovation specific to Limoges porcelain.

A jury will pre-select the projects by written application. It will include a famous artist, a specialised journalist, delegates of the municipality and partners of Limoges city (European cities, firms). The five to eight pre-selected contestants can stay in residence in Limoges to execute their work. They will work in collaboration with the firms, porcelain manufactures and art schools, partners of the city of Limoges. Their work will be exhibited among the porcelain and ceramic works of art during the international exhibition of ceramics.

Three works will be awarded. The first prize is 10 000 euros. The second prize is 5 000 euros and the third prize is 3 000 euros. For more information and application
